Call for homeowners to rent spare rooms to colleges students

There's a call on homeowners to let college students use their spare room.

With the college semester drawing ever closer, students are struggling to find accommodation.

Chris Clifford - President of the Union of Student's in Ireland - says protections must be put in place:

'We'd also like to see an extended remit of the RTB to include digs as well.

So that we have extra protection for them, that's the priority of the digs legislation.'
