A west Roscommon resident says proper transport needs to be provided to Ukrainian refuges who are being accommodated in rural areas.
Geraldine has been trying to help some families who are being accommodated at the local hotel in Ballinlough to find some work.
She says some jobs have been found for them in Castlerea and they're now desperately looking for some accommodation in the area.
The Roscommon woman says the families involved are highly skilled and eager to work, but the lack of public transport in rural areas is a huge impediment for them.
They don't want to be receiving social welfare, they dont want to be sitting round all day, there were jobs available in Castlerea, and some of them are going to start in Castlerea hopefully within the next week ,but accomodation is the problem.
I've also been trying to make contact with the Local link service to see if there would be any possibility of providing transport from Ballinlough to Castlerea.
Because at the moment we have local link who just seem to do the town areas, but again the rural areas seem to be just left with nothing.
Anyone who might be able to help with accomodation in Castlerea can visit the Castlerea.ie Facebook page for more details.
