There's disappointment and anger in Longford at the news that the Affordable Housing scheme isn't likely to be available in the county under the new Housing for All plan.

The councillors heard that Longford and several other counties won't be able to roll out the scheme because it's being based on the availability of new housing stock.
A Longford resident who's been renting for the past 12 years to provide a home for him, his wife and two children, says he's very disappointed with the news and had been hoping that the new scheme was going to be able to help them get their own house
Local Independent councillor Gerry Warnock says it's extremely frustrating that these decisions are being made at a central level with no real knowledge of the situations in each county.
