The chair of Roscommon Leader Partnership is fearful of what might happen if escalating issues in Ballaghaderreen are not addressed.
Michael Frayne believes more Garda resources are needed in the West Roscommon town to tackle an increase in crime due to an influx of people living in the area.
Following feedback from staff, the leader partnership submitted a letter to this month's Joint Policing Committee which contained details of a rise in anti-social behaviour, incidents of indecent exposure as well as volatile situations at local homes.
Despite the appointment of a new sergeant and guard to Ballaghadereen in the past two months, Michael believes this only counteracts the retirements of some officers in the station.
Speaking on Let's Talk earlier, Michael hopes action will be taken sooner rather than later.
