A local animal welfare organisation is urging anyone with information on illegal night poaching to contact Gardaí.
The call follows the discovery of several carcasses including pedigree sheep, a calf and several deer dumped in bogland last week in the South Roscommon area.
According to the Athlone branch of Animal Haven Ireland, the sheep and calf both had their heads removed so as to avoid identification.
