After a week of discussing electoral constituency changes, one local senator is calling for the change of a different boundary.
Longford based Fine Gael Senator, Micheál Carrigy is seeking the reconfiguration of Garda Divisions to return the Longford/Westmeath operational area.
Longford is currently part of the Longford/Roscommon/Mayo Division, with the Divisional Headquarters located in Castlebar.
Senator Carrigy believes the so called 'super division' is not in the interest of the people of Longford.
He argues that many state agencies such as Tusla and the HSE, along with the Courts Service operate in a Longford/Westmeath operational area.
