Local GAA supporters are being urged to boycott games should match ticket purchases go fully cashless.
That's the view of Leitrim County Councillor Paddy O'Rourke following a range of complaints from local GAA matches in recent weeks where fans found it difficult to access games paying cash.
Elderly people or those who do not have access to online banking have highlighted the issue, with Councillor O'Rourke stating that the move to cashless must be resisted at all cost.
Calls have been made for a dedicated entrypoint at all county games where cash can be accepted,
The local Fianna Fail Councillor has urged fans to abandon matches in protest should the issue persist:
It's part of this drive to enforce this cashless society upon us.
It should be resisted in the strongest possible terms.
If need by then all persons over a certain age group should abandon some particular match and stay away.'
