There are calls for community hubs in Co Leitrim to be better equipped to deal with future weather disasters. Several councillors will make the call at today's meeting of Ballinamore Municipal District.
These hubs were popular after Storm Eowyn when people lost electricity and were left without power for days. Fianna Fáil councillor Gary Prior says they need to be better equipped and staffed the next time:

Meanwhile there are around 100 homes without power this morning across the region. Outages are being reported in the Elphin and Kilmactranny areas of Co. Roscommon whilst an outage is being reported in the Mullaghgarve area of Co. Leitrim.
The ESB expects to restore power to all properties later today.
