Fianna Fáil councillor Sean McGowan brought forward a motion to today's Leitrim County Council meeting.
A Leitrim councillor is calling for the introduction of a morning and evening commuter train service between Longford and Sligo. Fianna Fáil councillor Sean McGowan brought forward a motion to today's Leitrim County Council meeting. He believes there is a demand for the service to run Monday to Friday each week. The current Sligo-Dublin Connolly services stops at multiple stations in the Shannonside region, including Boyle, Carrick-on-Shannon and Longford Town and Dromod. But councillor McGowan says an extra service between Longford and Sligo should be looked at by Iarnrod Eireann.
