There are calls for around 40 farmers to be compensated for flooding around Lough Funshinagh.
Independent Councillor Tony Ward will make the proposal at today's Roscommon County Council meeting.
It comes as the government considers both temporary and permanent solutions to the ongoing crisis in south Roscommon.
