There’s serious head scratching going on in the Ballaghaderreen area today over the mystery of 86 brand new baths found dumped in local fields.
22 of the plastic and cast-iron baths were discover a field close to the town yesterday morning and a further 64 were found today.
Local Sinn Fein councillor Michael Mulligan says no one has any idea as to why these baths have been brought to the area and dumped there.
He says it’s a total mystery to all concerned and the matter is being investigated by the Environment Section of Roscommon Council.
Now I haven't for the life of me a clue where these are coming from.
They're brand new baths, you see from the photographs, they're in their plastic protection jackets , and they haven't been used.
To get them there you needed a good sized lorry to load them on,
I got in touch with the Environmental Officers in Roscommon County Council, and fair play to them they were out immediately, and they were just as mystified as me as to why brand new baths had been dumped.
