Local campaigners are once again calling for supports for people with autism in County Longford. It follows the launch of ASIAM Longford earlier this month which is aimed at making the county more inclusive and accepting of those with autism. However, one local parent, Sara Braney of the Autism Longford Committee, says more needs to be done for families in Longford.
She has called on local political representatives and businesses to show their support for autistic people locally. Speaking to Let's Talk, she said parents have been forced to join forces in order to have their voices heard:
