Calls for local Garda station opening hours to be extended

The opening hours of small Garda stations in Co Roscommon should be extended until the recent spate of burglaries is under control. That's according to Fianna Fáil councillor Sean Moylan, who is calling for an immediate review of the county's policing policy.

He will make the proposal at next week's meeting of Roscommon County Council, after burglaries in Ballaghaderreen, Tulsk and Loughglynn recently. Councillor Moylan says Justice Minister Helen McEntee and Garda Commissioner Drew Harris need to take action.
