Leitrim County Council is being called on to urgently re-instate a number of wheelchair accessible parking bays in Carrick-on-Shannon town centre.
As a result of streetscape works, up to six wheelchair accessible spaces have been taken out of service along Main Street.
The October meeting of Carrick-on-Shannon municipal district heard it was unacceptable that the 'blue spaces' had not been reinstated as the works were completed.
The local authority claims that it is currently engaging in a by parking bye-laws review and it will examine the issue of disabled spaces as well as taxi ranks.
Councillor Sean McGowan, who proposed a motion to provide extra wheelchair accessible parking in the market yard area, says it's very disappointing the spaces are not being brought back into use straight away.
