A Roscommon Councillor is seeking a multi agency meeting to address issues around a dangerous junction on the N5.
Four crashes have been reported at the Castlerea turn off in Frenchpark in the last few weeks, including one over the bank Holiday weekend just gone - with locals raising concerns over a possible 'blind spot' at the junction.
Previously traffic lights or a roundabout for the junction had been ruled out as not being viable solutions to resolving traffic issues in the village.
The village is due to be by-passed by the upgraded N5 but in the meantime Councillor Liam Callaghan feels that a meeting between the TII, the local authority and Gardai needs to be called in order to progress a solution before someone is seriously injured
