A local councillor has called on the HSE to hire another pathologist to relieve pressure at Sligo University Hospital. Fianna Fáil councillor Paddy Farrell raised the motion at Monday's monthly meeting of Leitrim County Council. He said grieving families had experienced delays regarding the release of loved one's remains following a sudden death.
The motion received widespread support across the county council chamber. Speaking to Shannonside News, Cllr Farrell said the recruitment of a new pathologist would ease the burden on families:
