Leitrim County Council is urging people to shop locally over the coming weeks.
It has come together with the Chamber of Commerce in Carrick on Shannon to ask people to change their consumer behaviour to focus on supporting local small businesses through the #BELocal Campaign.
As part of the campaign, the TY Project at the community school is distributing golden tickets in chocolate bars to be sold throughout the town with vouchers to be won for local businesses.
Johanna Daly with the Leitrim Economic Development Unit at the County Council says it's important for people to do what they can to support local shops and in turn the entire community:
