The HSE has confirmed that its testing centre in Carrick-on-Shannon is now operational two days a week.
Latest figures from the HSE reveal that that just one new case has been reported in the county in the last nine days, with its total at 84.
The HSE has confirmed to Shannonside Northern Sound that for the last number of weeks the test centre in County Leitrim was operational on a once weekly basis and as of the beginning of this month, testing is scheduled for twice weekly; on a Tuesday and Saturday.
A spokesperson for the HSE confirmed that the demand for testing is reviewed on a weekly basis and there are no definite plans at this point beyond the middle of June.
The HSE in CHO8 - which covers Longford-Westmeath has also confirmed that there are "no plans currently to close any Testing Centre completely but this will constantly be reviewed based on National advice, local demand for testing and requirements to reintroduce other services."
