Carrick-on-Shannon Chamber of Commerce is calling for a new hotel to be developed in the town, to cater for the growing tourism sector.
There are currently three hotels in the town, but the chamber says that is not enough to meet demand. Carrick's population increased by almost 800 between 2011 and 2022, when it rose to 4,743.
The chamber's chief operating officer, Brendan Dee, says more accommodation is required.
