Carrick-on-Shannon rowing club is looking forward to getting back to competition in the next few weeks with the Head of the Shannon event on February 19th.
The club had hoped to run the race in December but it had to be cancelled because of poor weather.
Mark Butler from the Carrick Rowing Club says they're looking forward to seeing a good crowd of spectators back at the events which finish near the Marina in the town.
The first event takes place at 11o' clock in the morning and the second takes place at 2 in the afternoon.
Mark Butler says they have very good entry numbers for the two events and this will help give businesses in the town a boost as well.
He says some of the older rowing enthusiasts will usually come to the town for the whole weekend…
