A group of businesspeople in Carrick On Shannon are appealing to the local authority to listen to their concerns over pedestrianisation plans for the town.
A protest delayed the installation of bollards to block off Main Street as part of Leitrim County Council plans for the town on Friday by almost three hours.
It was only after the Council agreed to postpone street entertainment planned for the car-free zone on Saturday that the protest was stood down.
Local pharmacist Brendan Kieran says while some businesses are in favour of pedestrianisation, they are concerned about closing off the streets to traffic for entire weekends:
