A Leitrim Councillor believes the commencement date of further street scape works in Carrick-on-Shannon is poor planning.
The plan includes the widening of footpaths along the L3401 as well as enhancing public lighting and seating between Cryan's Hotel and the Carrick Plaza Suites.
Council officials informed this month's Municipal District meeting that the works are due to begin at the end of April and will take a period of four months to complete.
However, Councillor Finola Armstrong Maguire says it's a pity these are planned during peak tourist season.
She's hopeful the works won't be as invasive as previous improvements in the town.
''I have asked that it's done as efficiently as possible and as quickly as possible. The months coincide with the tourist season, which is a pity but the works will go ahead.
Hopefully May, June, July and August. It won't have the interference that the major job on Main Street Bridge Street had and hopefully there won't be any periods where things are left un tidy outside premises.
We all know what it means at this stage to try and run a business.''
