The New Carrick-on-Shannon Primary Care Centre has opened early to help in the rollout of Covid-19 vaccines in the area.
The newly constructed centre behind the Landmark Hotel in the town is scheduled to open for all services from next month.
Construction on the multi-million euro facility began in 2019 and it was originally due to open last year, but had been delayed by the pandemic.
GP services planned for the facility have moved in early due to the centres designation as the Leitrim Covid-19 vaccination centre, with the vaccine process hoped to begin this weekend.
Other services including physiotherapy, NOWDoc and dental services will begin to be available from the end of next month.
Local Councillor Finola Armstrong Maguire says the use of the centre for vaccinations will be a good introduction for people in the area who will be using it for other health care needs in the coming months:
