Harmac Medical Products hopes to grow its business even more in the coming
years as a result of new contracts and strategic alliances.
The company, which has been in Castlerea for over 20 years, announced 60 new
jobs today as a result of its winning major contracts from global medical
products company, Intersurgical.
The Roscommon facility will be operating on a 24 hour basis for the next
few months to keep up with demand for surgical face masks to be used by
health professionals, as well as making non-invasive respiratory devices.
Gerry Melly , Business Development Director with Harmac, says even though
these jobs are in some way related to the Covid pandemic, it doesn't mean
they aren't sustainable in the long term.
He says the company is already talking about manufacturing other devices for
the global medical supplier .
