The project co-ordinator of a local community family resource centre is reminding the public its services are open to everyone.
Castlerea CFRC officially opened at its new premises on Patrick's Street over the weekend, having spent a number of years at its base in the Trinity Arts Centre. Aisling Nolan says the centre is growing steadily and provides a range of services to all ages, including popular community education programmes.
Speaking to Shannonside FM Aisling says there's also been an increase in demand for food packages.
''We do a massive drive around Christmas where we do a food pack, last year it was 58 families but when we first started it was seven, so that'll show you how much it has grown over the few years. What we had gathered over Christmas usually would do us until July/August where this year its gone and we are only in April. We're lucky enough again to get funding throuhg Bank of Ireland to stock up on that so we will be able to have a small food provision there.''
