A clean-up operation is underway in Castlerea following several inches of rain which fell in a very short period last night as part of an Orange Weather warning.
Videos shared online show floods on the Main Street as well as several business premises including local supermarkets.
Dr Greg Kelly was working at his surgery in the town on Sunday afternoon when he noticed rising waters.

He describes the rain as a cloudburst that lasted around 20 minutes- and forced him to take extraordinary measures to be able to get through it :
"Came so fast, 20 minutes to half an hour max.
It would ease off and the rain had more of less ceased and I had to go out to my car and my patient and his wife likewise so we had to take our shoes and socks off and pull up our trousers to our knees and wade out through the water, it was unbelievable like."
