The chairperson of Castlerea Town Team says Gareth Scahill’s appointment as a senator is great news for the area.
The Fine Gael man was chosen as one of the Taoiseach’s 11 nominees for the Seanad yesterday.
It comes only eight months after he was elected to Roscommon County Council – a position he now must quit.
