Motorists around Castlerea are being advised of some brief traffic disruption today due to two events being held to mark the 1st anniversary of the death of Detective Garda Colm Horkan.
Garda Commissioner Drew Harris will join garda members, the family of Detective Garda Horkan, and invited guests for the unveiling of two plaques in the town.
One of the plaques will be unveiled at the scene of the shooting and the second event takes place at the garda station in the town where a memorial garden is being dedicated to Detective Garda Horkan's memory.
The garden is also being dedicated in memory of Detective Garda John Morley and Garda Henry Byrne who also died in the line of duty in July of 1980 near Loughglynn.
Roscommon Garda Superintendent Tom Colsh says traffic disruption around midday today will be kept to a minimum…
