The Cathaoirleach of Roscommon has welcomed plans for a national space museum in the south of the county. Metaversal Ltd is seeking to permission to construct the development at a unit in the Westpoint Retail Park.
The National Space Exploration Centre would comprise of a space themed educational and recreational facility. The interactive high-tech development would provide 3 full-time jobs and 19 part-time jobs should it get the go ahead. Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council John Keogh says the facility will have an impact on the wider region:
