Center Parcs Longford Forest is to close from midday tomorrow until at least Friday October 30th, due to introduction of nationwide Level 3 restrictions.
In an announcement on the Center Parcs Ireland Facebook page, the closure is described as "disappointing news" but it says given the advice for people to remain within their own counties, it wasn't felt "practical or appropriate to remain open".
Earlier this year the resort, which is based in Newcastle Forest outside Ballymahon, closed from March 12th until the end of July, in line with the first lockdown.
Center Parcs Ireland, which employs hundreds of local people, say that the safety and wellbeing of their guests and staff is their absolute priority and that their decision supports the government's guidelines.
People who have booked trips to the south Longford destination are advised that the company will contact them to re-book or arrange refunds as soon as posisble.
The news comes as a significant blow to traders in Ballymahon who have felt the benefit of the arriving guests on Mondays and Fridays in the town.
