Center Parcs has confirmed that a false alarm was the reason for the evacuation of hundreds of guest from one of its most popular attractions at its Longford Forest this week.
Dozens of people took to social media after they were forced to leave the subtropical paradise in a hurry after an alarm sounded, with tin foil blankets and towels offered to people as they left the pool.
Staff were praised for their very quick response after alarms sounded and no injuries were reported.
Guests were left to wonder as to the reason for the evacuation and the company has now confirmed that due to a fire alarm activation they temporarily evacuated a number of nearby areas, including the Subtropical Swimming Paradise.
They confirmed it was a precautionary measure, and the activation was later found to be a false alarm and they take the safety of staff and residents very seriously.
