The approved expansion of Center Parcs in Longford will be of huge economic benefit to the county.
That's according to Councillor Paul Ross who says the further development of the local amenity is a major vote of confidence in Longford.
The holiday firm has been given the greenlight to build 198 new lodges, as well as an extension to it spa and sub-tropical swimming pool features, totaling €80 million.
Councillor Ross acknowledged there were some concerns over traffic management in the area however he says it will be something the council will look into.
The Fine Gael Representative is welcoming the jobs that will be created as well as the spin off industry it will bring:
The jobs in both construction and in long term jobs after this in the park.
It means more money in the area, it means a huge knock on effect to the surrounding towns which we've already experienced.
You see a lot of businesses that are selling goods into the park, the likes of the takeaways especially.
You see the coffee shops and restaurants in the town all getting a knock on from the Mondays and Fridays trade.
You see the filling stations and supermarkets also getting a boost.
