The chair of the new safety partnership being piloted in Longford has met with local representatives to assess the needs of the community.
Seven Longford County Councillors are to feature as part of the new body which will replace the long established Joint Policing Committee.
It's expected that up to 30 people, including Gardai, HSE representatives as well as other state agencies including the County Council, will form the new body which is due to host its first meeting next month.
Councillor Gerry Warnock says he was impressed by his first interaction with the new chair Martina Moloney.
