Roscommon Chamber is hopeful GAA fans will bring an economic boost to the region this weekend.
Thousands are expected to descend on Roscommon this Friday for the All-Ireland Minor Football Final.
The game is fixed for Dr. Hyde Park and the local chamber of Commerce is encouraging both the Mayo and Galway supporters to shop and spend locally.
Brendan Allen is president of the group, he says businesses are facing huge challenges in recent months with the rise in inflation and the labour market.
Speaking to Shannonside FM the Castlemine Farm Shop owner believes Roscommon has several amenities and hotels can enjoy this weekend.
''The hospitality sector does get the main benefit from that and it deserves it after what they went through in the pandemic, most people will say when matches are on in town it's a bumper day for the businesses of the town and of course for the town itself. And it's great. It's great to see Mayo and Galway people coming into the town and enjoying Roscommon because it's a good town for days like this.''
