World champion boxer and Castlerea native Lisa O'Rourke is to be granted the Freedom Of Roscommon.
The decision was unanimously agreed today at the May meeting of Roscommon County Council.
The motion put forward by Councillor Pascal Fitzmaurice saw Councillors from across the county officially congratulate the 20 year old.
The Roscommon woman became world champion alongside fellow Irish competitor Amy Broadhurst in Turkey last week.
Lisa was welcomed home to Castlerea on Saturday night with a major open air reception through the streets of the town.
Councillors at today's meeting also officially congratulated the trainers, coaches and volunteers across the county who put their time into growing the sport locally.
