Bus Éireann is to change the location of a local school bus collection point.
The transfer will affect students from Athlone Community College, Our Lady's Bower, and the Marist College.
The proposal came from the bus service at the latest council meeting, where it was highlighted that the current pick up point for pupils was becoming unsafe due to the high volumes of passengers and vehicles in the locality.

According to a press statement released by Bus Éireann, a new location has been sourced and will commence operation in the next number of weeks.
Bus Éireann's local school transport office in Athlone will continue to engage with schools and parents in the area in relation to the changes.
