The Bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise has announced a number of diocesan changes for the region.
Bishop Paul Connell, who was appointed earlier this year, has made the decision following the retirement of three local priests.
The diocese has confirmed that due to the ongoing shortage of clergy, they will be adopting a strategic plan to cluster parishes in order to improve pastoral care.
In Leitrim, Fr John Wall and Fr. Tomás Flynn are to retire from the parishes of Annaduff and Kiltibrid.
As a result of this, the parishes are to be clustered with Carrick on Shannon going forward.
Fr. Frank Garvey, Parish Priest of Carrick on Shannon has now been appointed administrator of Annaduff and Kiltibrid parishes, while FR Ciaran McGuinness has been moved to the position of Catholic Curate in Carrick on Shannon.
Fr Gerry O'Brien is to retire from the parish of Bornacoola, with Fr Sean Burke to be appointed administrator.
Fr. Joseph Ukut will replace Fr Burke as CC of Mohill and Fenagh parishes.
All of Bishop Connell's appointments will take effect from the 1st of October.
