The Chief Executive of Leitrim County Council is to leave his role in the local authority.
Lar Power informed the elected members of the council yesterday of his intention to leave the position to take up the role of Chief Executive of Kilkenny County Council.
The Wexford native has been at the head of the council executive over the last five years.
In a letter to councillors he praised local authority staff and thanked elected representatives for their professionalism and dedication.
Following the conclusion of the Public Appointments Service process over the coming months, Lar Power will move to Kilkenny County Council to take over the role of Chief Executive.
