The Longford-Roscommon Garda Chief Superintendent is appealing to the public to always report any incidents of criminal or anti social behaviour to authorities.
Operation Phoenix was launched earlier this year by Gardai in with a special emphasis on more patrols and garda visibility on Main Street in Longford town.
The multi agency plan saw the gardaí liaise with the local authority as well as the town's Chamber of Commerce in an effort to tackle shop lifting and general anti social behaviour.

Tony Healy says that tackling crime is not just a duty for Gardai and he believes that everyone must play a part in a making the town a safer place.
