Close to a million euro in funding has been allocated for community projects across the Shannonside region.
The CLAR funding from the Department of Rural and Community Development is designed to develop and upgrade community facilities in rural areas.
€883,340 in funding has been approved for 25 local projects.
The awards are part of a national fund of over 7 million euro.
Roscommon received the highest allocation of funds under the CLAR programme locally, with €323,599 to be split between 8 projects.
These include almost €50,000 for Boyle GAA club for accessibility works and 48 and a half thousand euro for an replacement floor and heating upgrade of St Ronan's Community Hall.
Another 8 projects in Longford are to share €293.308 including a €50,000 allocation to Moyne Community School and funding for a walkway and running track at Cullyfad.
€266,433 has been awarded to Leitrim projects, with Drumkeeran and Annaduff Community GAA Clubs two of the major recipients.
Other projects receiving the funding in Leitrim include works at both St. Manchan's NS and Drumshanbo Vocational School.

Drumkeeran GAA Club. The construction of a walk way around the existing GAA facilities and surrounding land and create a new looped walking trail €46,350
