A major clean-up operation is taking place at a popular Roscommon amenity following Storm Éowyn. The main entrance to Mote Park from the N61 has been closed since the storm as Coillte attempt to clear fallen trees.
Local resident and member of the Mote Park Conservation Group, Eilish Feeley, says the storm caused a lot of damage. She called on members of the public to be patient as crews work to make the main avenue accessible once again. Eilish was also critical of some of the media commentary regarding forestry since the storm:
