Cllr Waldron passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday morning at the age of 64.

That's according to fellow Independent councillor Tony Ward, who paid tribute to the Ballintubber man this afternoon.

The decision was made following the sudden passing of Cllr Anthony Waldron at his home in Ballintubber on Sunday morning.

He died of natural causes at his home in Ballintubber over the weekend, while aged in his 60s.

The news was revealed at Roscommon County Council's annual budget meeting this morning.

Protests have been held in Castlerea, Ballaghaderreen and Glinsk recently about rural crime.

Independent councillor Anthony Waldron has organised the meeting for Tully's Hotel at 8 o'clock.
