Close to 100 complaints were made to the public services ombudsman last year in the Shannonside region.
The Ombudsman examines complaints from people who feel they have been unfairly treated by a public service provider in Ireland, including the HSE, local authorities and care homes.
Roscommon had the highest amount of public complaints in 2021, with 48 made, an increase of 1.2 percent on the year before.
That's followed by 26 in Longford and 20 in Leitrim, where complaint levels both increased by approximately a half of a percent.
Nationwide, their were 4,004 complaints made last year, up 17 percent on the year before.
The most complained about services in the country were the Department of Social Protection, local councils and the HSE.
