Close to 100 local targets being investigated by Criminal Assets Bureau

Nationally, Dublin Metropolitan Region West is the area with the highest number of targets, at a total of 301.

Close to 100 targets are being investigated by the Criminal Assets Bureau across the Shannonside region. The data was revealed in a document recently compiled by the CAB. The Criminal Assets Bureau, which revealed that they have been investigating 1,450 targets across the country since May 2023. A target for CAB may be an individual, a family or a crime network involving many people.

The range of crimes being investigated include murderous feuds, breaches of Revenue regulations, or the overpayment of Social Protection. The Roscommon/Longford area currently has the highest number of targets currently being investigated in the region, at 81. Sligo/Leitrim holds the lowest figure in the region, at 10. Nationally, Dublin Metropolitan Region West is the area with the highest number of targets, at a total of 301.
