Close to 2,500 patients waiting over a year for treatment at Sligo University Hospital

Almost 2,500 people have been waiting over a year for treatment at Sligo University Hospital.

Almost 2,100 are waiting for their first outpatient appointment - including 175 children.

A further 383 people are waiting for inpatient of day-case treatment, according to the National Treatment Purchase Fund.

Sligo-Leitrim TD Martin Kenny says the figures are very worrying.
