Close to €10,000 worth of drugs seized in Longford Town bust

Longford Gardaí have seized close to €10,000 worth of illegal drugs in the town this week. Searches carried out by local Gardaí on Richmond Street uncovered a quantity of suspected cocaine worth €7,000. The investigation also recovered cannabis with a approximate street value of €2,200. The drugs will now be sent for analysis.

The seizure is the second significant find this week after Longford Gardaí on patrol stopped a motorist for a traffic offence, discovering €2,200 worth of illegal drugs in the vehicle and a further €2,500 following a search of the motorists home. Both investigations are ongoing.
