Close to 140 million euro in property sales were recorded in the Shannonside region in the first half of 2024. Figures from the CSO show the cost of the average home in the region stands at €176,000. Roscommon has seen the highest amount in house sales so far this year with 70 million euro worth of property transactions completed in the country. 408 homes went on the market in Roscommon with the average cost recorded at close to €200,000. 35.5 million euro worth of property changed hands in Longford, with 183 properties sold in 2024.
The average cost of a home on the market in Longford was €178,000 so far this year. Leitrim saw some of the lowest house prices in the country with the average cost coming in at €150,000. 215 sales saw 33.3 million euro spent in Leitrim in the first 6 months of this year. Nationally, the Irish housing market has seen 9.2 billion euro in sales in 2024.
