Close to €15,000 has been raised to help with funeral costs for a woman whose body was discovered in South Roscommon yesterday.
The GoFundMe appeal was set up to support the family of Mirjana Pap, who was reported missing from her home in Athlone on Saturday and was found dead on farmlands at Curraghaleen near Athlone yesterday afternoon.
The page raised €14,557 over 18 hours, out of a €22,000 target.
Gardaí are treating the circumstances of her death as suspicious, while a post-mortem examination will determine the course of the investigation.
The page has described the Croatian national as a "beloved member" of the community, and that any contributions will ensure that Mirjana is "laid to rest with the dignity and love she deserves."
