Closure of post office a very sad day for Roscommon town - local historian

A local historian says the closure of Roscommon's post office after 112 years is a "very sad day" for the town.

It has been based in a historic building on The Square since 1912, but it will move to a nearby business early next year.

An Post says the listed building will be sold and a full range of services will continue in the new location.

But Marian Harlow, from Roscommon Tourist Office, says it's a very disappointing decision.
