Auctioneer Gerry Coffey has pulled out of the race to fill Gareth Scahill's Roscommon County Council seat.
Fine Gael is holding a selection convention on April 14th to choose Scahill's successor, after the Castlerea man was promoted to the Seanad.
Nominations close on March 30th - with Maura Hopkins, Micheal McGreal, Robbie McConn, and Ruth Connolly-Conboy still in the frame.
But Granlahan man Coffey - a former local elections candidate - is ruling himself out.
